The Challenge
Romanian archiving legislation mandates strict requirements for binding documents to comply with legal standards and internal workflows, ensuring secure and regulation-compliant document handling.
Iron Mountain Romania processes frequent on-demand retrieval requests for archives, typically consisting of 2 to 10 pages. Some bound A4 documents require extended book holders for scanning due to their thickness, often exceeding the A3 scanning area and occasionally extending up to A2 width.
The Solution
The Klip Snap XXL cradle, an upgraded version of the standard SNAP cradle, offers a generous document area of 600mm x 430mm, exceeding A2 dimensions.
Combined with the ScanSnap SV600, this setup enables efficient processing of thick originals that exceed 510mm in width when opened, accommodating documents unsuitable for the original Klip Snap.
This customised solution helps Iron Mountain Romania streamline document retrieval, improving efficiency in handling bound documents while avoiding the high costs of advanced book scanners.
Benefits
- Expanded Document Area: Accommodates documents up to A2 size when open (600mm x 430mm).
- Enhanced Efficiency: Accelerates retrieval processing, minimising turnaround times.
- Versatility: Handles thicker and more complex documents with ease.
- Cost-Effective: Delivers a budget-friendly alternative to conventional book scanners.
This solution not only fulfils Iron Mountain's operational requirements but also enhances their capability to serve clients with greater efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
